Cal States to No Longer Take Transfers; Will Cut Enrollment by 25,000 if Budget Does Not Pass.
13 of the 23 universities under the California State University System have completely halted junior college transfers for the upcoming academic year due to budget cuts. If Governor Brown’s budget proposition fails to pass in November, CSU representatives have stated that the schools will face another $250 million in budget cuts, with a likely cut in enrollment by 25,000 students.
This is ridiculous. (Click photo for more info)
All the while Presidents of these “establishments” are getting pay raises. Hmm…kinda makes you think about how the people who are here to lead us got different priorities. We need leaders who aren’t all about self-interest and profit. We need leaders who actually care about our communities and OUR YOUTH. This is terrible and just another gateway leading into a even more dwindling society. :/
As someone who is trying to transfer to certain CSU campuses by next year, I am very concerned. THE TAX PROPOSAL MUST PASS!
